Please note: The Bexley Public Library will close today, April 2nd, at 3:30pm due to the impending inclement weather.
AARP volunteer Debbie Geldis and speakers from Columbus Income Tax Division and (RITA) Regional Income Tax Agency will discuss how local income taxes relate to each other and how they are filed.
The mix of local taxes can be more complex than federal or state income taxes and is not well understood by most taxpayers. Once you've completed your federal and state tax returns – what else do you need to do to complete filing taxes? Does your school district collect a tax on your income? Who or what is RITA? What happens if you work in one city and live in another?
AARP volunteer Debbie Geldis along with representatives of the City of Columbus Income Tax Division and the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) will provide an overview of the various local taxes that are collected on your income, how they relate to each other and how they are filed. We will focus on the localities in the Bexley and Columbus area.
A Q&A session will follow.
Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
