PART ONE: A Conversation About Human Trafficking
We're all hearing a lot about human trafficking, but is it really happening here? How can we protect ourselves and children from being at risk, and what can we do to help change the tide of this troubling trend? Join us this February for an interactive discussion with Theresa Flores, human trafficking survivor and author of The Slave Across the Street, who will discuss what human trafficking is, how and why it happens, and how we can identify and help its victims.
Human trafficking is a pervasive issue, one that's often hiding in plain sight. Join us this winter to learn more about this life-shattering form of exploitation and how it's impacting our community today. In this two-part series, we'll learn about the history and current condition of human trafficking in central Ohio and explore what strategies, initiatives and programs are fighting this trend and reclaiming hope for its victims.
This 2 part-series is brought to you as a collaboration between the Bexley Women’s Club, the City of Bexley, and Bexley Public Library. Refreshments are being provided by Freedom a la Cart.
Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
