Bexley Responds | COVID-19

Since March 11, 2020, when the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus disease, COVID-19, a pandemic, our community has been responding. From closing schools, libraries, and businesses to changing the ways we gather, learn, and worship, our lives have been turned upside down. Only the Spanish Influenza of 1918, over a century ago, compares to what we are experiencing today. We are living history.

To document this history, Bexley Public Library’s Local History Librarian, David Distelhorst, has created a permanent digital archive, Bexley Responds • COVID-19. This collection is intended to historically document how Bexley community members lived and responded to the COVID-19 crisis. Our goal is to gather photographs and other images that demonstrate the large and small life changes we, as a community, are experiencing now and into the weeks ahead.

Help Us Grow The Collection

Show us how you, your family, friends and neighbors are managing the life changes this health crisis has created. From feelings of boredom or isolation to finding creative ways to connect with others. From the lighthearted to the serious, help us showcase how social distancing is impacting daily life in Bexley and how community members are experiencing this unprecedented time in history.

To participate in the digital archive, Bexley Responds • COVID-19, please complete the form linked below.
