Adult Volunteering @ BPL

Volunteering at Bexley Public Library (BPL) is a rewarding and valuable experience. As a volunteer, you will work with BPL staff members to help support the mission of Bexley Public Library: to enlighten, inspire, and empower our community through trustworthy resources and extraordinary service. Volunteers at BPL make a difference!

Anyone at least 18 years of age who is interested in volunteering at Bexley Public Library can start the process by filling out this Adult Volunteer Application and returning it to Bexley Public Library, or apply online using the form below. Not all Volunteer Opportunities are available at all times.

Material Assistance Volunteers: Help the Public Service staff by pulling library materials to fulfill patron hold requests as well as straightening material collections.

Programming Volunteer: Provide programming support by helping with set up and tear down for various library events.

Local History Volunteer: Digitize documents for BPL’s Local History collection, material preservation.

Teen Volunteering @ BPL

From Labor Day to Memorial Day, teens can volunteer in the youth department helping with various tasks such as pulling books and assisting with programs. Teens must be at least 13 years old or in grades 7-12 during the 2026-2027 school year to volunteer. Check out the options below for more information about how you can get involved.

For teens interested in more flexible volunteering and would like to assist with special events periodically, subscribe to our monthly teen newsletter. Stay up to date on the latest teen volunteer opportunities such as becoming a reading buddy for our Page Pals program as well as other teen news.

Youth Department Volunteer:

Teens can volunteer on an ongoing basis in our youth department pulling books, prepping crafts and other various tasks. This position involves a time commitment of one 2 hour shift once a week during the school year for a minimum of four weeks. Board of Trustees

Bexley Public Library

The public is hereby notified that a position on the volunteer Board of Trustees of the Bexley Public Library will become available on January 1, 2025. This position will be to fulfill the remaining term for a resigning board member whose service expires on December 31, 2025.

Responses should be submitted no later than noon, local time, Monday, October 28, 2024. Responses can be emailed to board@bexleylibrary.org, or mailed to Bexley Public Library, 2411 E.
