Join us for an inspiring conversation with author and Gramercy Books founder & owner Linda Kass. Linda will be in conversation with CML CEO, Patrick Losinski, discussing her latest novel Bessie.
We are honored to host local author and Gramercy Books founder and owner, Linda Kass, as a part of the Bexley Centennial Author Series. Linda will be in conversation with Columbus Metropolitan Librarian CEO, Patrick Losinski, discussing her latest novel Bessie, along with the intersections of history, literature, and culture and the relevance they play in our everyday lives. Kass's novel Bessie (She Writes Press, 2023) has been called, "Abundant in graceful storytelling and vivid historical detail...a fascinating portrait of a woman who was so much more than a beauty queen" -- NYT bestselling author Jennifer Chiaverini, and, "a loving and honest portrait of a woman who meant so much to so many" -- Pulitzer Prize-Finalist Lee Martin.

About the Author:
Linda Kass began her career as a magazine journalist and correspondent for regional and national publications. She is the author of three historical novels, Tasa’s Song; A Ritchie Boy, a 2021 IPPY Gold Medal Winner in Historical Fiction; and Bessie, named the Prose Finalist for the eighth annual Phillip H. McMath Post-Publication Book Award. She is well known around Central Ohio for her civic leadership, her strong advocacy of education, literacy, and the arts, and as the founder and owner of Gramercy Books, an independent bookstore located just east of downtown Columbus.
About the Moderator:
Patrick Losinski has served as CEO of Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) since 2002, where he has overseen a multimillion-dollar capital improvement plan for 20 new or remodeled library buildings. Under his leadership, CML has earned national recognition, including being named the Library Journal’s National Library of the Year in 2010 and receiving the Institute for Museum and Library Services National Medal in 2011.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
