Join Green Bexley at the semiannual Repair Café and give your treasured possessions a second life! Got a broken toaster, a wobbly chair, or a favorite sweater with a hole? Don't throw it out—bring it to our autumn Repair Café at the Bexley Public Library!
The Green Bexley Repair Café is a free community event focused on reducing waste by reviving the lost art of repair. Bring items in disrepair and consult with volunteer repair experts about what's not working. If the repair expert can fix your item onsite within a reasonable timeframe, they'll do it free of charge.

How it Works:
- Bring your items and meet with a repair expert.
- Repair experts will work to diagnose problems and identify potential fixes.
- Before making any repairs, the repair experts will explain what's wrong with your item, how it can or cannot be fixed, and ask if you would like them to make the repair.
- Many items can be repaired onsite, but some cannot due to safety concerns, repair complexity, or cost.
- While you wait, enjoy a cup of coffee and connect with your neighbors!
Types of Items to Bring:
- Clothing and textiles
- Small appliances, lamps, and electronics (except smartphones, tablets, and computers)
- Bicycles
- Small furniture
- Odds and ends
What to Know:
- APPOINTMENTS are strongly encouraged. Register via the Green Bexley Signup Genius. Walk-ins welcome.
- COST: the service is entirely free, though you may need to purchase parts, materials, or equipment required for the fix.
- LIMITATIONS: Not all repairs can be made. We typically cannot repair smartphones, computers, gas-powered engines, items requiring welding, or repairs that are overly complex.

About the branch
Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
