Gerontologist and Bexley resident Daniel Seltzer will discuss the Blue Zones, the places in the world with the healthiest, longest-living populations, and their habits that help with longevity.

In this session, we will explore the key characteristics and lifestyle habits that contribute to the exceptional longevity observed in these areas.
Our presentation will offer a comprehensive overview of the Blue Zones phenomenon, examining the original research conducted by National Geographic explorer Dan Buettner and his team. Through engaging visuals and compelling narratives, we will journey to the Blue Zones of Okinawa (Japan), Sardinia (Italy), Nicoya (Costa Rica), Ikaria (Greece), and Loma Linda (California, USA).

These sessions are open to seniors and will take place in-person at the Bexley Senior Center located at 420 N. Cassady Ave., Bexley, OH 43209; phone number: (614) 559-4355. Registration is required, but attendance to the entire series is not mandatory.
Speaker Bio:
Daniel Seltzer is the Executive Director of Evergold at Home, a Life Plan at Home program. He has over two decades of experience in healthcare and aging spaces, and is now most focused on identifying ways that older adults can live independently for as long as possible. Daniel began his career as a volunteer in an adult day program before becoming a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Most recently, he served as an Executive Director at an assisted living community in Columbus. He received an MS in Gerontology from the University of North Texas and a BA in History from Tulane University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, watching baseball, volunteering as an auctioneer, and reading.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
