Join AARP Ohio and the Bexley Public Library for a joyful, daytime celebration honoring the birthday and legacy of Toni Morrison—one of Ohio’s greatest literary voices—through writing, creativity, and connection.
Research shows that short, regular writing—just 10 to 15 minutes a day—can support memory, focus, and overall brain health at any age. This interactive experience invites you to try that practice in a fun, welcoming way, inspired by Toni Morrison’s life and words.
Come play with words, stretch your imagination, and give your brain a boost—drawing inspiration from Toni Morrison along the way. The gathering features guided writing, relaxed conversation, and light refreshments, including birthday treats and coffee.
Every participant will leave with a meaningful writing-for-brain-health gift, and attendees will also have the chance to win Toni Morrison–themed prizes, such as books and other special items.
Designed to feel celebratory, creative, and accessible—less lecture, more experience—this event aligns with a statewide celebration of Toni Morrison launching on her birthday.
Whether you love writing, reading, or simply trying something new for your brain, this is a chance to celebrate creativity, lifelong learning, and aging with purpose and joy.
Enjoy lively discussion, thought-provoking quotes, and birthday cake as we connect and learn together! Register through the AARP Ohio event page for FREE by February 18, 2026.
