According to the Red Cross, the Coronavirus pandemic has created critical shortages in blood supplies, as nearly 10,000 blood drives have been cancelled nationally. Adequate blood donations are crucial to providing lifesaving blood transfusions for organ transplant recipients, cancer patients, trauma victims, and others. These supplies are needed now more than ever.
Please note, the Library has extended its closing until at least May 4th and will not be open during the blood drive. The Auditorium will be open only to donors, library staff, and the Red Cross blood drive workers. The safety of our patrons and staff remains our top priority. Extra safety precautions by the Library and the Red Cross will be followed to protect the health of all donors and staff.
Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
