ODJFS Assistant Deputy Director Ryan Thompson will discuss his agency's employment help sites OhioMeansJobs.com and the newly updated TopJobs.Ohio.gov. He will also cover available apprenticeship programs. Gain skills to locate and land that "top job."
Ryan Thompson is the Assistant Deputy Director for the Office of Workforce Development in Ohio’s Department of Job and Family Services. After serving in the United States Air Force for ten years, he continued his public service with the State of Ohio by both delivering and overseeing multiple workforce programs. In the last nine years he has become responsible for the Jobs for Veterans State Grant, Wagner-Peyser employment services, Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment, Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Apprenticeship, Trade Adjustment Act, Rapid Response, and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. He is very active in the national workforce development space and has a true passion for assisting veterans' transition based upon his own experience. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University.
Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
