Join us to celebrate Juneteenth and enjoy music, poetry, art and dance workshops, and other activities as well as shop a marketplace of black-owned businesses, artists and service providers.
One June 19th, Bexley will celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday that hails the arrival of the news of emancipation for those who had been enslaved in the United States.
The day will feature a marketplace of Bexley and central Ohio black owned businesses, artists and service providers, from Just Naturally Yummy Bakery and IN College Planning to Replenish Spa. Attendees will also enjoy music, poetry, art and dance workshops and activities led by community art engagement group, Transit Arts, and family book reads led by Bexley Public Library staff. The day's event will conclude with a concert, Songs of Freedom, emceed by Ohio State Senator, Herschel Craig.
BPL is proud to partner with The City of Bexley, Bexley Chamber of Commerce, Capital University, and Transit Arts with the generous support of the Bexley Community Foundation to present this event.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
