Dr. Anne Dawson, a pediatric psychologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, will explore the changing trends in technology use among children and the impact of screen time- and more specifically social media- on children's mental health. She will discuss the latest research, potential risks, and recommendations for changing the tide by creating healthier digital habits.
Bio
Anne Dawson, Ph.D. is a pediatric psychology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and clinical assistant professor at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. She received her doctoral degree at Ohio University, where her research centered largely on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and her dissertation focused on the social media/Internet use of teens with ADHD. She has continued to provide education about social media use in her current job and affiliation with The Kids Mental Health Foundation/On Our Sleeves. Dr. Dawson’s primary clinical focus is working with children impacted by kidney disease.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
