LeAnna Cooper, Nationwide Children's Hospital Outpatient Therapist, will discuss the impacts of racial trauma on youth within our community with a focus on the experience of Black/African Americans.
This program will discuss the definition and impact of racial trauma within our community, with a focus on the experience of Black/African Americans. Education regarding specific trauma symptoms to be aware of, as well as research-supported methods to assess and address racial trauma, including the ARTIC group (Addressing Racial Trauma in Children) offered at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, will be discussed.
About the Presenter:
LeAnna Cooper, LISW-S is an Outpatient Therapist at Nationwide Children's Hospital. LeAnna Cooper is licensed independent social worker and has worked in the mental health field for 9 years with children and families. She received her Masters of Social Work at University of Toledo in 2016 with a focus in families and children. LeAnna started working at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2016 as an outpatient therapist on the downtown team with training in CBT, TF-CBT, and other evidenced based practices. She also educates clinicians on racial trauma and facilitates a racial trauma group (ARTIC) at the hospital for Black/African American youth.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
