Please note: The Bexley Public Library will close today, April 2nd, at 3:30pm due to the impending inclement weather.
Join us for an interactive workshop on how to make music using a Digital Audio Workstation. DJ Torin Jacobs will show how to use Bandlab to create loops and rhythmic patterns found in popular music.
For this interactive class, we will learn about the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) called Bandlab which is available on all web-based and most app-based devices. This workshop will cover how to use a DAW and basic music theory to create simple loops and rhythmic patterns found in various styles of popular music. No music experience is required, just bring a phone, tablet, or laptop and create a free Bandlab account (https://www.bandlab.com/) if you wish to participate. The library will also have laptops and devices on-hand to use for this program.
Torin Jacobs is a DJ, multi-instrumentalist, and music enthusiast who has a passion for electronic music, improvisation, and folk music traditions from different parts of the world. He believes that the music-creating process does not have to be expensive, confusing, or extremely difficult and would like to help demystify this creative process for anyone of any age.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
